Our team has spent the last week preparing for high volume production and distribution of oil booms to control the gulf oil spill. Over $1 million dollars has been spent. As far as can be determined, we have the largest capacity to produce oil boom in the world. From every indication that we have found, the next largest production facility can only produce about 40% of our current production capacity. If asked, we can engage other facilities doubling our capacity to approximately 100,000 feet per day.
As of May 14th, 2010, here is where we stand regarding oil boom manufacturing:
- We have triple sourced raw materials from 4 countries around the world. We have procured enough fabric to produce 3 million feet of oil boom. This is enough to protect 568 miles of cost line.
- Under the oversight of Risk Management Disaster Service Environmental (RMDSE)we have multiple production facilities for oil boom manufacturing in the United States and 2 other countries. RMDSE also has an additional 8 facilities that can increase oil boom to approximately 20 miles per day. This includes:
- Production of 18″ calm water oil boom.
- Production of 42″ deep water ocean oil boom.
- With over 1000 people ready to work, we have the ability too add to the existing labor force. Additionally, with such a large resource of workers available, RMDSE can deploy their labor force over multiple shifts.
- RMDSE has a fleet of 400 trucks to transport manufactured boom rapidly to the various areas along the coast.
- A 747 transport plane has been set aside to move large volumes of materials from around the world.
The capacity to manufacture boom is THREATENED with each passing day as orders for new boom are not finalized. Here is why: The material used to make oil boom has multiple uses ranging from truck tarps to pool covers. As other industries continue to do business as usual the resources are being depleted for non emergency purposes. This extends the lead time that is required to fulfill the demand for oil containment boom to protect our shore line.
This information was true and accurate as of 5-14-2010. It is expected to change by the hour without notice for the reasons listed above. We stand ready to implement our production with a phone call and purchase order from the responsible parties in this oil spill disaster. Please email us using the contact form if you wish to make a purchase of 100,000 feet or more.
