Top Kill Fails. What Happens Next?

BPs last attempt to stop the oil leak has not been a success.  The goal was to pump “mud” and “junkshot” into the leak with the hopes of clogging it.  If the “mud” turned out to work, cement would then be pumped in to seal off the leak permanently.  After days of pumping the “mud”, the oil is still leaking, forcing BP to look into another method.

The Lower Marine Riser Package is the current method of stemming the leak.  Using underwater robots, BP will cut into one of the pipes leaking oil and try to reconnect it to another pipe.  The goal here is not to stop the leak but to slow the leak down.  Since this measure has never been completed at 5000 ft. before, BP has given us a sombering reminder:  “the successful deployment of the containment system cannot be assured”.

So what happens next?  In the short term we have to adopt a wait and see attitude regarding the actual leak.  BP has engineers and teams of scientist working to fix this issue along with a website that allows people to submit creative and scientifically sound ideas on ways to stop the leak.

Thousand of workers have joined arms to help clean up the effects of the oil on our coastline at gulfoilspilljobs.com.  Here at gulfoilspilljobs.com we are working tirelessly around the clock to secure contracts to put our citizens to work performing a service for the American people and other nations soon to be affected.

Throughout the entire process of failed attempts at curing the leak, BP has been drilling 2 relief wells which is considered the final solution.  The downside?  These relief wells will not be complete until August.  This leaves the next 3 months for the leak to spread farther and deeper inland.

Something else we can anticipate and try to plan for is the arrival of the hurricane season.  The oil will spread beyond our comprehension if a hurricane were to pass though the gulf along with the destruction of the oil booms currently deployed.  This huge unknown underscores the immediate need to get as much of the oil cleaned up as possible even if the leak has yet to be stopped.  We hope President Obama follows up with the His commitment here to increase manpower as we are falling steadily behind to the spread of oil.

I wish to offer a sincere THANK YOU! To all our people that are putting themselves available to work  and for the patience they are showing as we secure the work needed to make a difference cleaning the oil.
